Production Log 10
What progress did you make since your previous entry?
This week has been a very busy week, but worth all the hard work as we manage to finish editing the documentary to the highest standard possible. We have added upbeat background music as we wanted to make it different from other documentary by making appealing to the audience and also making it look like a YouTube vlog type as it would be appropriate as our topic was about YouTube. Also we have managed to add the clips of the vox pots so this means we are done with it.
What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
.The challenges that we faced this week was most definable the conclusion which for us had to be on point and effective this is why we made sure that it was useful conclusions. Also another logistical challenge was time as we had a lot of work to do this week like the conclusion, adding Vox Pots, finding and adding music and editing it all to match up and make sure that we had techniques of documentary as that would be what we will be getting marked on.
What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical problems that we were having this week was the fact that the music was very difficult to find and me and my partner decided to go with instrumental music as it would be most appropriate due to the voice over being there, we had decided to go with a instrumental music from YouTube but found it very difficult to download on the imacs, however i tired to download it at home on my PC and it worked, then i just had put it on a pen drive and then import it on to the final cut x.
We have finished the documentary so this will be the last production log made.

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
This is week 9 and nearly coming to an end as we have nearly completed editing all of our documentary as we had all the footage from last weeks filming days and now have completed all the voice over we needed, our schedule tells us the deadline is next week and i think we are in due course to meet it. This week we have looked at the finished documentary and believe that we should add a couple of more VOX POTS as that will make it a lot better and entertaining to watch.
What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
This logistical challenge we faced this week was time as i was not in for couple lesson due to me having medical appointments this meant that we partner was editing by their self for some time, however i we both had equal time as i had come in my free time just to make sure it was perfect and if it was up to the best standard which we could produce.
What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical challenges I had this week was that due to the we needed to download archive footage from a YouTube but due to legal reasons it was not letting us, this meant us it being very difficult however on imacs you are able to screen record with the software Quicktime this meant us being able to record the screen however the sound would not be possible to record.
What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
For next week we aim to record a few vox pots and then add them, also we need to find a background music and then just twek it over the voice over, hopefully by next week we should be able to complete the whole documentary as there is not a lot left and me and my partner are going to be editing in any free time we have.

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
Since our previous entry what me and my partner have done is that we edited most of our documentary, however we still have more voice over to record the advert which means that needing to be done. We have added a montage of with a group of pictures which we found online and have now grouped it together and made a montage, this is to illustrate the development over the years since YouTube has come about in 2005.
What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The problem we were was facing this week was time management as editing takes a lot of time but when were editing me and my partner felt as something was missing, this is why we added the montage so then we can show the change of the YouTube over the yeas, this made it a lot more pleasant to see as you can see the change yourself and then the voice over could expand. .
What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical challenge that we faced this week was that some of the clips which we recorded had background noise which meant us having to get rid of them bits however due to the loudness we have to add music to the documentary to make sure that the background sound is not heard. Another technical fault was that our mac which we were using freezed when we opened garageband to record the voice over, lucky we had saved our project on final cut x, this meant us being able to reset the computer and carry on.

Our targets for next week is that we want to record all the voice over and finish editing so we can have a look at it and this will give us couple of days to improve it and make it better so that our documentary is technically strong.

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
This week we have finished recording all the necessary footage we need to complete the documentary, we have uploaded the footage to the final cut x and have looked at them, so far they look fine, however there are few clips which need sound level checked, so that not that loud. Vox pot and all the interviewers have been completed.
What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
Over this week, we logistical challenges like the fact that we had mis-placed the memory card which meant that us needing to look for it, but luckily i had left it at home which is better than losing all the footage which we had. Another logistical issue was that when we were recording the vox pot the public were very shy which meant them not wanting to face the camera, but we did manage to record couple of vox pot as we had asked over 20 people that day.
What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical challenges was that some of our video had sound issues because as it is winter there is a lot of wind which means that the sound of the wind effecting it as you won't be able to hear what the person is saying, as a solution you we recorded the audio separate with the microphone and then it was a lot better and clear. Another technical issue was that one of our footage was corrupted which meant us having to re-upload that footage but through an actual camera, this resolved the problem.
What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
Our aim for next week is editing rough copy so that we can see what needs doing, also we need to record the voice over for the whole of the documentary, this may take time but will done in due course. If we complete all that next week we should be slowly catching up to the original production schedule.

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
This week me and my partner went to Dagenham to record an interview with YouTuber by doing this it meant us being more closer to editing the whole documentary, also we have recorded around three vox pots this week but we have around 10 more left as the audience response is very important as it shows us what they think and then it will allow the audience at home how to feel.
What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
As we mentioned in the last entry that we mad huge decision this meant it changing in a few ways as we now need to record all the voice over and then add it at the right moments, as an logistical issue was that when we went dagenham to record the interview the room of the YouTuber was not that the big this meant us having less space to record and then it was hard to get specific shot we wanted. Another logistical issue was that when we were recording the vox pot a lot of the public did not have time or they did not want to go in front of the camera this made it a lot difficult.
What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical problems that we came across during this week was the quality of footage that we were using as we recorded different cameras this meant our footage having different quality and this made it look funny but we resolved this issue by adding effects and filter to make all them look the same.
What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
My aim is next week would be to finish all the footage by the beginning of the week which mean that then we can upload all the footage to the computer then we can see if there is any problem with the footage and if we need to re-record specific scenes.

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
This week the main problem was that we were going to do a participatory documentary which meant us being in it, but us looking at what we have edited so far we both think it would be the best if we do a voice of god documentary as then we can just have a voice over throughout. By doing this we may fall behind but schedule but we think that would be the best option as it would look a lot better and we could make it look like a YouTuber Vlogs and then it would appeal to them kind of people.
What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
The targets that I aim to achieve before the next entry are, to finish getting the footage for the interviews, complete the Vox Pox footage as we need to do in the daylight and due to it being winter time means that it gets dark a lot quicker. By doing this i feel we will be in a better position as we would just need to record two more interview then we would be closer to editing all.

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
This week is going to be a challenging week as me and my partner are aiming to record two interviews this week and also adding the recorded footage so far to the imacs then we could have a bit of editing to see if we could change anything. We have lucky recorded an interview with the professor at LSE university in Holborn, this interview has definable improved our documentary as the audience can make a decision based on the expert opinion. However the YouTuber we were speaking to has stop emailing us this may be due to them being busy, but we are still awaiting a response.
What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The logistical challenges that we had this week was that we found it difficult to get the right footage for our documentary by this i mean arcade footage or even elements like to the public walking past so we could make the cuts in between people speaking. Another issue was when we were recording the professor the lighting in the office was very poorly which meant it being a bit dark to resolve we tried brightening the room and also when were editing we could add effect or add light this meant us resolving the issue of the lighting.

What we aim to do before the next log get a fixed production schedule which will help us know where to be and i like to be organised, we have spoke to a YouTuber and they have said to email them next week when they will know when they are free and we can arrange a time so this is the main aim for next week as we need YouTubers due to it being a documentary about YouTuber.

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
This week we had to finish the location reccies which we had to go to the location and take pictures and then will be certain what locations to film in, as we went to the location we had to plan our journey and see if it logistically was possible with the time, also as we were very determined to film this week we had recorded the opening scene outside the YouTube Space.
What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The challenges that we encountered this week was that when we went to YouTube we were hoping to go inside or even speak to someone who can be in our documentary, however they said that due to safety they cannot let us enter but they said we can contact them through email then they could see if we could interview, however due to legal issues they could not allow us to interview the person t
What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The problem that we came across this week was the fact that we could not interview anyone at YouTube which means that us falling behind schedule and means that we need to find some alternative to interview, we have tried to contact big YouTube stars but we still have not reply, this may due to the high demand they have as they have a lot of meetings which they are getting paid and we would not be offering them any kind of incentives for meeting us. We have emailed at least 20 YouTubers this week.
What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
What we aim to achieve next week is that having confirmed interview list and timing by doing this we can schedule what we are planning to do and also there has been one YouTuber who emailed us back so we are discussing an appropriate date which we both can attend. Also we have a interview with a professsor which has a PHD in social media.

Production Log 2
What progress did you make since your previous entry?
This week we completed the budget, interview questions and call sheets, the progress on who and when we are going to meet is still being decided as we have trouble setting a time due to our experts being very busy with work.
What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The logistical challenges that we faced this week was actually getting a reply from YouTubers as they are very busy and also they may not have time to go through their mail, how we are overcoming this is by interviewing a YouTuber who we personally know this will enable us to interview them.
What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
A technical challenge was that when making our budget we did not know where we would need to travel, this is why we put estimates which on traveling, we also had to put a estimate of how much equipment will be this meant us having to do research online to see prices of equipment.
What targets do you aim to achieve before your next
Next week we want to the location reccies, this would mean us going to the locations and checking if they are suitable and we would need to take images which will then upload to give a better understanding, also as we are going to the location we may also want to see issues which may have. We hope to start filming this week but due to time management we will need to start next week hopefully, we have not fallen behind schedule we are on schedule.

What progress did you make since your previous entry?
This week as a pair we have been working on our pre-production work so that we can go out and film our documentary. This paperwork which we complete this was the risk assessment, cast list and crew list.
What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The logistical challenges this week we faced was when doing our risk assessment as we had to know where we going to film and this made it more difficult as you cannot really plan where to film in a documentary, we overcome this by actually going to the locations and seeing what the hazards will be this helped us know what kind of risk there would be.
What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical challenge which we faced was time management as we had a lot of work to do as there were a lot of outstanding work, how we overcome this was by dividing the work between two and then making sure that we complete the work to the best standard possible.
What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
Next week we aim to complete all the pre-production work which will enable us to go and film, if we do so we may a-head of schedule which means us getting more longer to film, this means that we could be able to spend more time ensuring that we are recording the best footage.
